First Venture Lounge in London was a complete success

Our first Venture Lounge in London took place on 22 October and it was a complete success! The organisers of the event - Neuhaus Partners and CatCap - want to thank Osborne Clarke cordially for their great co-operation and their help. Osborne Clarke allocated their wonderful rooms in the city of London for our event.
reBuy, the Berlin based company, was elected as the "Best of Germany". It is a B2C shop for second-hand products. reBuy buys used videogames, DVDs, CDs and books from consumers and resells it in an average of 15 days with a margin of 40 percent to their customers. reBuy could convince the jury with its easy and efficient business model.
Two companies, Jedox and earth TV, share the second place.
earth TV produces, licenses and syndicates proprietary video content for international television stations, web portals and new media. The company produces 450 TV programs per day on five continents and reaches 2 billion people with their own worldwide network of highest quality television cameras. The program is broadcasted in 40 TV transmitters in over 16 languages. You also can watch it about the Earth TV WebPlayer.
The software company Jedox offers solutions for Business Intelligence (BI) and Corporate Performance Management (CPM). Starting with cost-free open-source editions Jedox generates recurring revenues from subscriptions and licenses as well as cloud-based BI and CPM SaaS offerings. The Palo Suite" is a centralized BI and CPM solution for planning, budgeting, forecasting, dashboarding and analysis which uses a web-browser or excel as front-ends.
As interesting as the presentations were the lecture of our partner, the High-Tech Gründerfonds, and the speeches of Neuhaus Partners and CatCap. Dr Alex von Frankenberg, CEO of the HTGF, talked about the potential of German high-tech start-ups and explained the business model of the HTGF. Paul Jozefak partner of Neuhaus Partners lectured about the international perspective on Venture Capital in Germany and Michael Moritz overviewed the German IT M&A market.
The Venture Lounge goes abroad! For the very first time the Venture Lounge will take place in London, on Wednesday, 22 October, 2009.

The Venture Lounge, the established event for venture capital in Germany will take place in London for the very first time on October 22, 2009. The event is hosted by CatCap, the leading corporate finance consulting company in Germany in the venture capital business and Neuhaus Partners, a leading venture capital company based in Hamburg. Neuhaus Partners, early investor of Europes leading online pharmacy DocMorris, has been recently awarded with the "Venture exit of the year" for the trade sale of Blau.de, the first independent mobile telephone discounter, to KPN.
The Venture Lounge brings together young high-tech companies searching for equity investors and representatives of leading Venture Capital investors who would like to participate with an investment in the growth of there companies. Through an exclusive presentation at the Venture Lounge eight to ten companies get the opportunity to convince investors to enter in an in-depth examination of their business cases.
We are pleased to have the German "High-Tech Gründerfonds" (HTGF) on board, recently awarded as the "Equity Gap Fund of the year" at the 2008 "Investor AllStars Awards" in London. The 270 m Euro fund typically invests in high-tech companies and supports them with the necessary amount of capital for the start and currently holds a portfolio of more than 160 high-tech companies.
